Malaga Airport
Guide To Malaga AirportMalaga's Pablo Ruiz Picasso airport is located within 10 km from the city of Malaga. Every year there are about twelve million people flying passengers there and it is the fourth busiest airport in Spain.
In the terminal there are bars, restaurants, fast food outlets, a pharmacy, shops and information points with multilingual staff wearing green jackets. There is a great variety of boutiques, souvenir shops, cafes and bars, plus on the second floor in the departure area you will find duty free shops or you can flick through a magazine in one of the book and newspaper shops. At the arrivals hall of both Terminal 1 and 2 there are numerous car hire companies, cash machines and post boxes.
There is also a well equipped VIP lounge, meeting facilities, short term car parking at Terminal 2 and long term parking at Terminal 1including parking facilities for those with special needs.
At the moment there is a lot of building work going on at Malaga's airport. In a few years time there will be a third Terminal to deal with the large amount of tourists and leisure travellers who arrive on the Costa del Sol during the summer months.
Buses go to Malaga and most of the other tourist areas every 30 minutes, the train station is located only 100 metres from the arrivals hall and a taxi rank can be found outside Terminal 2. Within the airport are many car hire desks with multilingual staff to assist you in completing the necessary paperwork before handing over the car.
