Barcelona Airport
Guide To Barcelona AirportBarcelona's El Prat Airport belongs to the top 50 airports worldwide and is in the top 15 in Europe. The airport with its three terminals (A, B and C) handled over 27 million passengers and 307,000 flights in 2005. Terminal A is used for international arrivals and foreign airlines, Terminal B for EU arrivals and Spanish airline departures and Terminal C for General Aviation and Air Shuttle flights. Due to its excellent location it is easy for visitors to reach the city. Probably the best way to get there is to use a car hire agency which can be found in Terminal B and C, on the ground floor.
All the terminals have two levels in which restaurants, cafes, information desks, first aid services, VIP lounges, banks, ATM's and shops are located. Besides the normal shops which offer many kinds of goods (music and electronic, press, sport, toys, perfumery and cosmetics, accessories, home and decoration, art, jewellery, fashion, wine and spirits, tobacco, travel goods, souvenirs and much more), there are also duty free shops, a pharmacy and of course car hire desks in the arrival areas available.
There will soon be new passenger terminal which will increase the airports status. It is very likely that the new terminal will also provide car hire facilities so you will not have to worry about how to get to the city.
