Exploring Malaga AirportThe city of Malaga is only 20 minutes away from the airport. Because there are so many different things to discover, it is advisable to rent a car. You can do this directly at the airport where several "Rent a Car" desks can be found.
To the west of the airport there are numerous tourist areas with a wide range of leisure facilities and beautiful beaches. The east of Malaga is not dominated by the tourism and therefore a great place to visit and to explore the traditional side of Spain. The towns of Nerja or Frigiliana for example are typical white villages with a tranquil atmosphere.
On the other side of Malaga is Ronda, Estepona, Marbella and numerous other attractions which can be visited during a stay in southern Spain. Places like that are definitely worth a visit but difficult to reach unless you decided to rent a car.
No matter where you want to go on the Costa del Sol, road connections are excellent. If you want to drive from Malaga to Marbella you can choose between the toll road and the coast road. Both routes give you the chance to discover the beauty of the area. Even if you do not want to make day trip but stay in the area around Malaga, it is advantageous to rent a car.
