Jerez Airport
Exploring Jerez AirportIn 1968 Jerez airport was awarded international status and a new passenger terminal was constructed. In 1991 the airport was completely remodelled which included extending the passenger terminal so that it could handle 1200 passengers per hour. In 2005 nearly all of the flight operations are from charter companies such as Iberia, LTU, Britannia, Air Europa, Futura, Ryanair, Hapag Lloyd, Air Berlin, Thomas Cook and Transavia Airlines.
There is also an old terminal in the area in which a Cargo Agent and an Aero Club are situated. Due to its proximity to the new terminal, many people use the road leading to it as a car park.
Jerez itself is a traditional and cultural city with many points of interest. To rent a car is probably the best way to get to know the city and the area around it. Excellent wines and beautiful horses are what makes Jerez so famous. Wine cellars, historical monuments, the beautiful old town and much more can be visited during a stay here.
Another reason why it is an advantage to rent a car is the fact that you are able to visit other cities like Cadiz which is only about 40 km away, or Seville which is approximately 100 km.
